Hello ladies and gents, the name’s WorldDude. Well, not really, but it’s good enough for now. Although I’m known in many circles as “Andrew,” but that’s only in this “real life” everybody always talks about. What’s that? Who cares? I think in this “real life” I am a English major, with a minor in communications/journalism, and I hope to one day become a gaming journalist. I can not see myself doing anything else really.
I’m a lover of games in general, and I enjoy discussing not only what games everyone is playing, but the industry itself. It’s always been fascinating to me, ever since I was…I don’t know, let’s say ten. My first game was Duck Hunt on the NES, and man, that was certainly fun for ten minutes. And then I played Super Mario Bros. and was hooked for life. After that, I gained a real appreciation of RPGs, as games like Final Fantasy III and Illusion of Gaia on the SNES got me more into the genre. Eventually, I started expanding my “gaming tastes” and now I play most everything, with the exception of most sports games and anything made by Koei.
But aside from gameplay, one thing I love in games is the music: music brings you into the experience more than anything, and I think some of the best composers of our time come from video games. Nobuo Uematsu is a personal favorite of mine. As sad as this may seem, a good chunk of my income goes towards games each month. And with that, many new game purchases are made!
I also write for a website called Snackbar Games, where the majority of my new content will go. This means there are no more daily updates, so check there for more content!

Hey there ya’ll, I’m Riss. Or HoboRiss. Or AdmiralSandwich. I’m not a fancy writer or journalist or anything, but I do love games quite a bit and have since I was a toddler. I’m currently working towards a BFA in Visual Communications for the purposes of being a character designer for games and such. I’ve played around with the idea of lots of jobs for a long time, but character design seems just right.
Games are my passion, they’ve been my favorite thing since I was a small child. The earliest game I can remember playing is “Little Nemo the Dream Master” for the Nintendo Entertainment System. I was too young to play it properly, so my sister would tell me or show me what to do and all I could really do was hit buttons. It was amazing to me at that age, and I was hooked. At this age I’ll play most anything, though I am especially partial to platformers, RPGs, and FPS games.
While I too am extremely partial to the music in games and the emotions and atmospheres they create like WorldDude, I’d say the other important aspect of a game to me is the visual design. The visual & artistic designs are probably some of the most underrated traits to the average gamer. From character design, to environments, to creatures, weapons, worlds, everything. Where would Mario be without his iconic moustache, hat, and overalls? How scary would Silent Hill be without the horrors that populate it’s hallways? Rapture without the dark atmosphere and art deco design of every store, sign, and stairway? I love seeing how the artists come up with such interesting designs, all to appeal to the type of game and demographic and all sorts of things artists have to think about when they are creating something. It can be a make or break sort of thing for me, and definitely has made me love games more than I would otherwise had they been designed in a bland or uninventive fashion. What can I say? I’m an artist through and through.
